China Social Compliance 9000 for the Textile and Apparel Industry (CSC 9000 T)
The CSC9000T is an industry specific management system for social compliance for China’s textile and apparel sector, which is based upon the Chinese laws and regulations and relevant international conventions as well as in line with the Chinese characteristics.
It aims at improving CSR management and practice and building a harmonious society, which is embodied in the following aspects:
- Ensuring the safeguard and protection of workers’ legitimate rights, motivating employees and increased productivity;
- Assisting businesses in improving their management practice, especially in the CSR management areas of working conditions and HR to enhance core competence;
- Facilitating sustainable development of enterprises, promoting international reputation of Chinese textile enterprises and enabling them to better integrate into the international supply chain;
- Concrete steps and actions to materialize the ideal of building a harmonious society in the Chinese textile sector;
It puts special emphasis on the occupational health and safety management and on migrant female workers.
Enterprises can implement the CSC9000T by:
- Using CSC9000T Self-Assessment Form to evaluate the current social responsibility performance, identify strength and weakness in the management system;
- Adapting the CSC9000T Principles, Guidelines, and Implementation Guidance to become the enterprise´s own CSC9000T Social Responsibility Management System, according to the nature and needs of the enterprise.
- Implementing the CSC9000T management system, and conducting internal audit and management review to evaluate the system and its implementation. If necessary, the enterprises can use the professional services of training or consulting institutions. RSCA can also provide training or consulting services.
- Applying for third party performance evaluation on CSC9000T management system in order to have an independent assessment to identify problems, their root causes, and corrective action plans (CAP) for continuous improvement. This helps reduce the operational risks and enhance the core competitiveness of enterprises.

SpecificityThe Responsible Supply Chain Association (RSCA) – a Practitioner of Social Responsibility for China’s Textile and Apparel Industry, is one of the operational bodies of CSC 9000. It is an industrywide professional body for the promotion of social responsibilities, and fallis directly under the administration of China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC). It is composed of companies, buyers, retailers and other interested parties within the entire textile supply chain, with the aim of utilising resources and strengths of various stakeholder groups to promote CSR related ideas and concepts and assisting businesses in raising CSR awareness and improving management practice
The RSCA is an industry specific, self-disciplinary and voluntary association for the Chinese textile and clothing industry with a particular focus on putting concept of CSR into practice, and thus contribute to the protection of workers’ rights and enhance businesses' capacities in the field of sustainable development.
